Benzie County

Benzie County was created in 1863 from Leelanau County. County government was organized in 1869, with the seat established at Frankfort. The seat was changed to Benzonia by 1872, back to Frankfort by 1895, to Honor by 1908, and finally to Beulah by 1916. Beulah remains the county seat.
