Cemetery

Tombstones usually list the birth and death date of the deceased and, in some cases, a birth place or other clue. Tombstone inscriptions for many cemeteries in the state have been transcribed and published, in print and online. The Library of Michigan's Michigan Cemetery Sources, for example, identifies the locations of more than 3,700 cemeteries in the state and lists published cemetery transcriptons located at the Library of Michigan. Many other online sources list tombstone transcriptions or publish photos of tombstones.
